The newly-developed three-axis CNC drill jointly developed by Dongfang Boiler Group CO. and Shandong FIN CNC Machine CO., LTD. has been commissioned recently. It has realized the "dual machine integration" with the original three-axis CNC drill. Under the control of the CNC system, the drilling and basin bevel are fully accopolished in one time. Processing, various operating target parameters and product processing accuracy are excellent.


The successful trial production of the first batch of products marked the successful commissioning of the Double-gantry six-axis high-speed CNC drilling workstation, making Dongfang Boiler a leader in header manufacturing in the domestic boiler industry. The workstation has an internationally leading level and demonstrates the strength of intelligent equipment manufacturing technology.

In the boiler header manufacturing process, the number of header tube holes is huge. The traditional use of radial drills to process tube holes has low efficiency, unstable quality, and high labor intensity. This has restricted the mass production of headers for a long time. Poor groove processing accuracy also hinders the application and promotion of pipe joint welding robots.


This workstation is the only highly automated equipment in the boiler industry that is maturely applied to header tube hole processing. The two gantry can be operated independently and can also be linked to control the processing header. The flexibility is high, and the processing efficiency can reach 5-6 sets of the productivity of the manual drill. The workstation is equipped with an automatic detection system for the height of the pipe surface, which can automatically adapt to the side bending deformation of the base material of the header, ensuring the consistency of the processing accuracy of the basin hole, and meeting the needs of the robot's automated welding process. At the same time, the clamping method that the chuck movement automatically adapts to the position of the header is adopted, which greatly reduces the preparation time for pipe clamping adjustment.


The commissioning of the double-gantry 6-axis high-speed CNC drilling station effectively solves the processing quality problems and production bottlenecks faced by the workshop production, reduces labor intensity, improves the welding quality of pipe joints, and create a solid condition for the automatic robots welding of pipe joints.
